The McHenry County Board Honors MCHHPC Chairman Nick Chirikos
On January 15, 2013, the McHenry County Board approved a resolution honoring former Historic Preservation Commission Chariman Nick Chirikos for his years of service before being elected to the McHenry County Board.(Pictured from Left, Tina Hill, County Board Chairperson, Nick Chirkos, and Steven Greeley, Current Historic Commission Chairman).

The McHenry County Conservation District is currently accepting applications for a Cultural History Research and Program Seasonal position who will work during the summer. Please forward the attached job announcement to those you think maybe interested.

Trout Valley Pool is now a McHenry County Landmark
The McHenry County Board has approved the Trout Valley Pool as a McHenry County Historic Landmark under the County Historic Preservation Ordinance. The pool was constructed in 1923 and is located on River Road in the Village of Trout Valley. It was originally part of the John Hertz Leona Farms Estate and is still used today in its near-original form by residents of Trout Valley.
