We're Here ...because we want to see buildings of historic significance live side-by-side with development.   We're Here...because we want the landscape our grandparents saw, there for our grandchildren to see.  We're Here ...to help our citizens preserve and make good use of their historic homes, for generations to come.  We're your Historic Preservation Commission,  and we're here!

SURVEY TEAM GEARS UP FOR HEBRON TOWNSHIP

  survey2    survey1

Members of the Historic Preservation Commission assemble for a strategy meeting in preparation for field data collection for the ongoing Rural Intensive Survey. "RIS" was first begun early in the Commission's organization, and is an ongoing project. The intent of the survey is to capture photographic and historical data on the County's rural life, including structures, farmsteads and landmarks, and compare the existing information to that recorded on earlier surveys from the 1800's.  The survey is completed by Township, and four have been done to date. The results are published in separate volumes which are distributed to our local libraries. The focus of the next survey is Hebron Township, followed by Alden Township.
